Better Data Improves Outcomes

The Life Empowering Abilities Quotient helps families source programs and services customized to their household needs

LEAQ Info

Navigating services for a child with a disability can often feel like choosing from a cafeteria line—you’re limited to what’s on the menu. While this approach might be quick, it’s not always the best way to get what you need.

A better way is a “custom chef” approach. Instead of asking, “What do we have to offer you?” we should be asking, “What do you need?” When we create solutions that are truly custom-made for each family, everyone gets the services they need. This not only helps match people with the right services but also helps us find or create the right services.

We collect information directly from families to benefit the entire community. Our LEAQ survey asks about two main things:

  • The quality of life challenges young adults with disabilities face.
  •
  • What families think about those challenges.
  •

The survey then creates easy-to-read reports with charts and text. These reports highlight specific programming needs for the young adults, their parents, and the community groups that serve them.

By gathering this local information, we can improve our programs and get better results for everyone. We hope this information helps your family make a plan and find the outcomes you want.
